BRIDGEWATER INN

The three suites at Bridgewater Inn have cottage privacy with B&B amenities.

Each spacious suite has its own entrance, and breakfast comes to you rather than you joining the other guests--both unusual features in historic inns.

The building, in the center of downtown Bridgewater, is of Georgian architecture, built in 1878-85 by Mr. B. M. Rice. Rice served in the 12 Virginia Calvary Company H, and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery (in back of current Methodist Church, two blocks from the bed and breakfast).

The lush gardens surrounding it are a perfect spot for reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine.

Nearby wineries include the multi-award winning Bluestone Vineyard, the region's "destination" winery, CrossKeys, and the intimate Thistle Gate.
